The 4th run in the Snowball Series was this morning round Creve Coeur lake. I made pretty good time (maybe my fastest run yet) but it was nice and flat, so I should run faster. I had to run on my own because Sam was working today. The weather was cold, but still good for running. I wore exactly the right amount of clothes. Also ran in my new shoes.
I haven't ever been out there, seems like a great place to run, I need to go more often. Drove back to take a picture of the frozen waterfall

First run of 2016
We ran the 5 mile Forest Park run in the Snowball Series yesterday morning. It was pretty cold when we got started, but the sun was out and it turned out to be really nice. Sam waited for me, so his time is much slower than would be normally. I am now #17 out of 48 in the series ranking. Not bad at all since I am so slow these days!!!!

Reindeer Run 2015
The second run of the Snowball Series was at Tower Grove Park this morning. Even though my legs haven't fully recovered from last Sunday, I still did pretty well.

Hot Chocolate Run
Molly and I did the Hot Chocolate Run. It's a huge run , but is a lot of fun. I did it will Anne last year, but she didn't make it this year. There were 9 thousand people registered. This is our before picture standing in front of the start
We were in the 4th wave of runners, so we were standing around for a while. I loved the marshmallows
The weather was perfect and the run was very easy. It's so much easier when you set out know you are going to walk and run. I must admit there was no way I wanted to eat chocolate after just running, so I brought my winners bowl home with me. We finished in 37:21We parked near Scottrade Center, so I got this cake on the way back to the car

Run for the Cookie....
I managed to browbeat Maggie into doing the 1 mile Girl Scout Run for the Cookie. She just will NOT run with me at all. However, she did really well this morning and we did the run in 10:40

November Run Webster/Kirkwood Turkey Trot 2014
Very cold morning, Sam said real feel was 16. We weren't too keen on doing this run since it snowed all day yesterday, but as usual we were glad we made the effort.
The race is getting very popular and it's hard to get around everyone because the course is so narrow. That was fine for me as it was an easy pace, but annoying when you get jostled and almost run over by a stroller....

October run #2
Ivory Crockett is a great run and supports the school district's foundation. It is pretty hilly though and slowed me down considerably. Plus, I had to stop and walk for a while as I felt pretty nauseous-do NOT eat pizza the night before or drink too much coffee right before running.......

Imagine no malaria June run #3
Sam and I did a run in Webster on Saturday. It wasn't timed, so I timed it on my phone. We ran it in 32:50, probably my "comfortable" time. I did walk some of it. It was pretty warm and humid and I much prefer to run in the cold weather.
We chased this mosquito, who was big enough he could hold the flag during the National Anthem!!!!
We look pretty happy that it's over. We have done 3 runs in June, still planning on doing one every month this year

All American Run-June run #2
Sam and I did the All American 5K yesterday. I have done it every year it's been going, this was Sam's first time doing this run. It's heralded as the fastest run in St Louis because a lot of it is downhill. Unfortunately, it is NOT my fastest run. I really wanted to be under 30 minutes, but I just could not do it. My final time was 30:49, at least it was 9 seconds faster than last year!!! I was 11th out of 50 in my age category, so not too bad
My "after picture" has me smiling, but I was not very happy!!!!
Still, I am on target to do a run every month this year.....

First Run in June
Sam and I did the Yoga 6 6K run in Forest park last night (Yoga 6, 6K, 6pm, on 6/6!!!). It was a really nice run, there weren't too many people (only 87 in total). Most of the runners were young and fit, so I came 60th out of the 87 but my time was 37:19. The last time I did a 6K (Stan Musial Bridge), I did it in 38:48, so I was much faster
Our before and after pictures look pretty much the same....

Girls on the Run 2014
Girls on the Run was last Saturday, my second run in May 2014. We all met as a team and started together.
After making out she was dying and a bunch of melodrama, she immediately turned around and was fine. She wasn't even breathing that hard. She is so frustrating sometimes!!! Still, we made it and I will keep on trying to get her to exercise whenever I can

May 2014 Run for Sight
Molly works in the ophthalmology department at SLU and asked me if I wanted to do the Run for Sight 5K. Maggie and I are doing GOTR next Saturday, but this was for a good cause, so I did it with Anne and Molly this past Sunday. It was a great day for a run....
We asked someone to take an after picture by one of the St. Louis 250 cakes, nice finger shot in the corner!!!!

Pretty hopeless time, but we did it!!!

My March race is done.....
I ran the 5 mile St Patrick's Day Parade race in 52:10 today. I had to walk some of it, but still did much better than I thought I would. I was aiming to do under an hour and I easily made it. Most surprising was that I did it at my usual 5K pace. I had to walk some of it, but I felt great the whole time, so I am very happy. Before and after pictures show how happy we were. Perfect weather for a race.

Stan Musial Bridge 6K run
We came so close to not doing this run. It had snowed YET again on Friday night and it was really cold. However, I have not given up on a run yet and I am so glad that we did this. It would have been different if we were running the usual course downtown, but this opportunity was never going to come again. We got there right as the run started and the weather wasn't as bad as some of the other runs we have done this year, so it was very successful.
We look just as happy at the end as we did at the beginning!!!!
I felt great doing this run, completely different to the Commitment Run on Jan 1 this year. My time needs to be faster, but not bad for a cold day and slushy underfoot. Funny, I was faster on the way back than the way out. Sam said it was because it was downhill, but usually I am much more tired by the time I'm almost done!!!
